So far on the agenda....

    - Haunter’s Hangout - Please bring one of your homemade props, decorations or special effects and be a part of the spooky show-n-tell. * This agenda item will depend on the amount of participation.

    - Lifemask Basics by Ross Troiano - Learn how to do a negative mold of a human face using Alja-Safe alginate. This is a product produced by Smooth-On. Once cast, a mother mold will be produced and then a positive casting made.

Ross is a Project Manager for Mystic Scenic Studios that specializes in industrial and theatrical scenery with projects ranging from Broadway productions to large-scale industrial stage productions. Ross also produces gallery openings and shows for artists as well as themed events as a sideline. For many years, Ross co-produced a Haunted House of the Marshfield, MA Boys and Girls Club. However, after 10 years its time has ended. As always, too much work and never enough volunteers.

    - Unleashing your Inner Zombie: Basic training for young bloods by Lori Sousa - Acting in a haunted attraction is unlike any other job but every haunter will tell you it’s the most fun you’ll ever have while working. This class will cover the basics with emphasis on how to take your acting to the next level. What to wear, what to do, what to expect, how to stand out in a sea of ghouls and also address the concerns beginning haunt actors might have. Drop the fear! You too can be scary!!

Lori, self proclaimed ‘Office Goddess’, (Administrative/customer service) and Professional Mom and has been haunting for 11 years. Her credits include: 2 years as an attraction manager at Spooky World Foxboro, Director of Actors at Trails to Terror in Wakefield, RI and guest acted at A Hauntingly Enchanted Evening in Coventry, CT. Lori’s specialty is helping haunts form a "core group" of actors that return to work for the haunt year after year. Visit Lori’s website www.tinydevil.com

    - Corpsifying: Fun with Latex and Cotton by Denny Stanley - Corpsifying tips/techniques using latex and cotton. You will get a walkthrough of a couple of projects at varying stages from beginning to end. Denny will also be incorporating armature, application, and even some painting techniques that take advantage of the unique properties of these materials. Also, Denny will bring in a nice little collection of some of his more popular props and finish up with a short Q&A.

Denny is an "Outside Sales Consultant" for Aramark Refreshment Services. Some of his first memories are of Halloween and can hardly remember a year when he didn't have some sort of a display. Denny has never been a pro haunter, but wouldn't rule it out in the future. As with most home (and probably Pro) haunters, most of what he does was developed by trial & error, success and failure. Denny freely admits “I didn’t pioneer the art of using latex and cotton but I hope to be able to share what I've learned and to remove some of the mystery of working with these materials” Denny does not have an official website, but you can see some of his work on HauntForum
or Garage of Evil as Denhaunt.

    - The Dark Arts: Advertising & Marketing by Dick Terhune - Think you’re Not-For-Profit Haunt can't compete with the "big boys" when it comes to Advertising & Marketing? Think your For-Profit Haunt could utilize your Advertising & Marketing resources better? Listen as Dick Terhune, Internationally-Acclaimed "Voice From Hell" & Master of the Dark Arts of Advertising & Marketing reveals proven techniques to squeeze the last drop out of every Advertising & Marketing Dollar you spend and how to get even more for free!

The Master of the Dark Arts (of Advertising & Marketing) has been haunting as far back as he can remember. He has been building audiences for pro and amateur haunts for many years and his haunt clients stretch from coast-to-coast, and the UK! In addition to his presentations at HauntCon, National Haunters Convention, and the Midwest Haunters Convention, Dick is often heard on Rotting Flesh Radio. Go and visit Dick’s website at www.VoiceFromHell.com

    - Animation: MacGuyver style by Phobos (aka. Jim Maguire) - No computer skills? No problem! You can create animations on a shoestring budget. Phobos will demonstrate how to add motion to give your props life using found (or cheap… I mean inexpensive ;-) ) materials.

By day Jim works for Bridgeport Harley-Davidson in the parts department. He started home haunting in 1986 and his ever-expanding home haunt turned into a pro haunt. The pro Haunt is currently on hiatus, but negotiations are underway for a property to open the 2011 season.

The websites haven’t updated in a while, but go take a look:
